He is Head and Director - Department of Neurosurgery at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon. He has more than 10,000 neurological procedures to his credit and considered as one of the supreme surgeon for brain tumor in India. Dr. Patir’s endeavors include being the Chairman of Department of Neurosurgery at prestigious Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, India. He was a professor at the Guwahati Medical College with the Neurology department as well as a faculty at AIIMS and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He has also worked as the Registrar at Regional Neurosciences Centre, New Castle, UK.

Dr. Rana Patir is also well qualified in surgeries like disc replacement surgery, skull base surgery, brain tumor and brachial plexus and brain stem tumor with quite a high success rate.
